Comments from Pupils
One of our pupils asked this question of the Principal...
“Why did you allow someone like me to come to your school?”
The Principal’s response was “Because we knew that we could help you to fulfil your potential and prepare for life beyond St Dominic’s”.
We asked our school leavers two questions - the answers speak for themselves...
How did you feel when you arrived at St Dominic’s?
“I was relieved to come to a school where people understood me and I felt for the first time like I had a chance.”
“I knew that people were good at helping me. People provided me with support that I did not get in my previous school.
“Welcomed. It is a lot nicer than other schools I have been to. It is homely and welcoming. I liked it.”
“I was nervous but soon got to know people knew I was like them, made friends, and people helped me.”
What would you like to say to the teachers?
“Thank you for changing my life, for allowing me to move on and continue.”
“Thank you for all the support you have given me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my St Dominic’s experience.”
”Thank you for all the encouragement with my education. I hope you will continue to support me as well in 6th Form.”
”Thank you for everything you have done, for helping me all through difficulties, because I can remember that when I first came here I was naughty, but I have changed, made progress in lessons and with my behaviour. No-one has given up.”
”Thank you for everything you have done. This school, like everywhere, may have its glitches, its ups and downs, people come and go, but if you look deep down in a positive manner you see the good and you do not want to leave.”
”Thank you for broadening my outlook and making me prepared for the challenges I will face in the future beyond school.
