Student Voice

St Dominic's has its own student council  called The Student Voice.  Members are elected from different areas of the school: Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, each of the Residential Areas and Day pupils.  During the autumn term, students nominate who they would like to represent their group.  Those with the most nominations are given the opportunity to make a short speech, then votes are cast to elect a representative.  Council meetings are held regularly, with an agenda for each meeting made up of matters suggested by their peers and the Senior Leadership Team.  Within the council, a Chair is elected along with someone to take the minutes, which are then displayed around school.  The Student Voice members are supported by members of the teaching staff, therapy and care staff.  Each year a new Student Voice body is elected.
