ICT

Information and Communication Technology is taught throughout the School as cross-curricular delivery by subject teachers in a well-resourced computer room and media suite.  Each pupil and student has access to their own computer, giving access to the Internet in a group environment.

In KS4, pupils are able to choose ICT as an option, giving three lessons a week studying GCSE (AQA) short course.

Media Studies

Media Studies GCSE is taught following the AQA Exam Board Specification. Students study a range of topics including: 

  • Radio
  • Moving image
  • Advertising and marketing
  • Print
  • Web-based media
  • Packaging of DVDs
  • Promotion of music
  • Comics 

Students have access to a range of resources through our new, fully equipped multi-media suite. Resources include: 

  • Powerful PCs capable of handling multi-media applications
  • The latest software to suit a range of abilities and skill levels including Adobe CS5, Photoshop and Premiere Elements, Blender and Serif Packages
  • Digital and Video Cameras 

Media Studies appeals to students because it is challenging, creative and fun. Our GCSE offers students:
