ICT

Information and Communication Technology is taught throughout the School, using a combination of discrete lessons and cross-curricular delivery by subject teachers. The ICT lessons take place in a well-resourced computer room with specialist teaching and support. Each student has access to their own computer, giving access to the Internet in a group environment.

IT_roomIn KS2 & KS3, students have one discrete lesson a week and are taught to make effective use of ICT tools and information sources, in order to analyse, process and present information, and to model, measure and control external events.

In KS4, students have two lessons a week. All students will leave St. Dominic’s with an externally recognised qualification - either a Certificate of Achievement (Entry Level obtaining level 1, 2, or 3), or, for the more able students, a GCSE Foundation/Higher Level (AQA) short course.
