Key Stage 4
Key Stage 4 covers Years 10 and 11 at St Dominic’s.
The Key Stage 4 curriculum is delivered by subject specialists. Each pupil follows a broad and balanced curriculum leading towards needs-appropriate examination courses and preparing them for the world of work. Work related learning is embedded into the curriculum which also includes work experience. There are well established links with the Surrey Careers Service, who support the post-16 planning for all students. Links are also established with Careers Consultants in the pupil’s home area.
All pupils in Key Stage 4 follow courses which access a range of accreditation. These include Entry 3, and Level 1 and 2 qualifications. Most pupils access GCSE examinations. The range of subjects and examinations taken by each pupil is tailored to their individual needs and each year the examinations offered are reviewed to ensure they meet their varied abilities and interests. Some pupils are entitled to special arrangements from Examination Boards due to their SENs. See also Exam Results
For those pupils who would benefit from a more vocationally based programme of study, individual programmes can be designed to incorporate additional time at Skillway or work experience.
