Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 covers Years 7, 8 and 9 at St Dominic’s.

At Key Stage 3, we encourage pupils to develop autonomy, co-operation, independence and an acceptance of support to enable full access to the life of the school. The pupils are guided towards a broad and balanced curriculum delivered through core subjects and the creative curriculum, which is adapted to meet the needs of the pupil, enabling a smooth transition, to Key Stage 4.

Programmes of learning are developed to ensure all pupils receives a challenging and stimulating course of study that will promote progress. Personal and social education is seen as fundamental if pupils are to live life to the full and take their place in twenty-first century Britain. Pupils follow a structured programme of study which enables them to think through human and spiritual values alongside moral and cultural standards.
