Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 covers Years 7, 8 and 9 at St Dominic’s.

At Key Stage 3, we encourage students to develop autonomy, co-operation, independence and an acceptance of support to enable full access to the life of the school. The students are guided towards a broad and balanced subject-based curriculum, which is adapted to meet the needs of the child, enabling a smooth transition, at the end of Year 9, to Key Stage 4.Key_Stage_3

Individual programmes of learning are developed to ensure each child receives a challenging and stimulating course of study that will promote success and an informed approach to life. Personal and social education is seen as fundamental if students are to play a full role in the family and society. Students follow a structured programme of study which enables them to think through human and spiritual values alongside moral and ethical standards. In keeping with the whole school emphasis on celebration of achievement, Key Stage 3 takes pride in displaying examples of students’ work within corridors and classrooms.
